| 1 Umiłowani, nie wierzcie każdemu duchowi, ale sprawdzajcie duchy czy są z Boga: ponieważ wielu fałszywych proroków wyszło na świat. | 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. |
| 2 Po tym poznajecie Ducha Boga: Każdy duch, który wyznaje, że Jezus Chrystus przychodzi w ciele, jest z Boga: | 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: |
| 3 A każdy duch, który nie wyznaje, że Jezus Chrystus przychodzi w ciele nie jest z Boga: i to jest ten duch antychrysta, o którym słyszeliście, że ma przyjść; a nawet teraz już jest na świecie. | 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. |
| 4 Wy jesteście z Boga, małe dzieci, i zwyciężyliście ich: ponieważ większy jest ten, który jest w was, niż ten, który jest na świecie. | 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. |
| 5 Oni są ze świata: dlatego mówią o świecie, a świat ich słucha. | 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. |
| 6 My jesteśmy z Boga: ten kto zna Boga, słucha nas, ten kto nie jest z Boga, nie słucha nas. Po tym poznajemy ducha prawdy i ducha błędu. | 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. |
| 7 Umiłowani, miłujmy jedni drugich: gdyż miłość jest z Boga; i każdy, kto miłuje, jest narodzony z Boga, i zna Boga. | 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. |
| 8 Ten kto nie miłuje, nie zna Boga; gdyż Bóg jest miłością. | 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. |
| 9 W tym objawiła się miłość Boga ku nam, ponieważ Bóg posłał swego jednorodzonego Syna na świat, abyśmy mogli żyć poprzez niego. | 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
| 10 Na tym polega miłość, że nie my umiłowaliśmy Boga, ale że on nas umiłował, i posłał swego Syna, aby był przebłaganiem za nasze grzechy. | 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
| 11 Umiłowani, jeśli Bóg tak nas umiłował, to i my powinniśmy miłować jedni drugich. | 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. |
| 12 Żaden człowiek nigdy nie widział Boga. Jeśli miłujemy jedni drugich, Bóg w nas mieszka, i jego miłość jest w nas doskonalona. | 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. |
| 13 Po tym poznajemy, że w nim mieszkamy, a on w nas, ponieważ dał nam ze swego Ducha. | 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
| 14 A my widzieliśmy i świadczymy, że Ojciec posłał Syna, aby był Zbawicielem świata. | 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. |
| 15 Ktokolwiek wyzna, że Jezus jest Synem Boga, Bóg mieszka w nim, a on w Bogu. | 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. |
| 16 I my poznaliśmy i uwierzyliśmy miłości, którą Bóg ma do nas. Bóg jest miłością; i ten kto mieszka w miłości, mieszka w Bogu, a Bóg w nim. | 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. |
| 17 W tym nasza miłość jest uczyniona doskonałą, abyśmy mieli odwagę w dniu sądu: ponieważ jaki on jest, tacy i my jesteśmy na tym świecie. | 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. |
| 18 W miłości nie ma lęku; lecz doskonała miłość wyrzuca lęk: ponieważ lęk ma udrękę. Ten kto się boi, nie jest uczyniony doskonałym w miłości. | 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. |
| 19 My go miłujemy, ponieważ on pierwszy nas umiłował. | 19 We love him, because he first loved us. |
| 20 Jeśli ktoś mówi, Miłuję Boga, a nienawidzi swego brata, jest kłamcą: bo ten kto nie miłuje swego brata, którego widział, jak może miłować Boga, którego nie widział? | 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? |
| 21 A to przykazanie mamy od niego, Aby ten, kto miłuje Boga, miłował także swego brata. | 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. |
